    Department is organising Dance and Music competitions on the occassion of Haryana Day Celebration

    Department of Art and Cultural Affairs, Haryana organizing a “Folk Dance and Folk Song/Ragini Competition” on the occassion of Haryana Day Celebration.

    Interested/Eligible Participants:

    Those willing to participate in the competition must send their application by 30th October 2025 by filling the following Google Form Application.

    🏆 First Prize: ₹1,00,000/- (One Lakh Only)
    🥈 Second Prize: ₹75,000/- (Seventy-Five Thousand Only)
    🥉 Third Prize: ₹50,000/- (Fifty Thousand Only)


    Rules, Conditions & Eligibility:

    • Haryanvi Folk Song/Ragni Competition

      1. Only one entry per College/UTD is allowed.

      2. The maximum number of participants is one.

      3. Maximum number of accompanists is five, and accompanists may also sing in the chorus as Raagni.

      4. Time allowed for stage/instrument setting is 5 minutes.

      5. The duration of the performances will be 4 to 6 minutes.

      6. Raagni should be presented in its original folk tune.

      7. The medium of expression must be in any dialect of Haryanvi language.

      8. The theme should be decent, cultural and not cheap or vulgar.

      9. Film songs and recorded tunes are strictly not allowed.

      10. Judgement will be based on voice quality, authenticity of tune, composition, presentation and overall impression.


      Haryanvi Group Dance

      1. Only one entry per university is allowed.

      2. A maximum of 10 participants is allowed per team.

      3. The duration of performance shall be between 6 to 8 minutes.

      4. Time allowed for stage setup, instrument arrangement, sound check, and overall readiness, as applicable, shall not exceed 10 minutes.

      5. A maximum of five accompanists is permitted.

      6. Accompaniment must be live; recorded music or audio/CDs are not permitted.

      7. The dance will be only Haryanvi Folk Dance.

      8. Three copies of a brief note describing the theme (Hindi/English) and the text of the song, if any, must be submitted along with the entry form at the time of registration.

      9. The participating team will be responsible for the immediate removal of their sets, properties, etc. after the completion of their performance.

      10. Judgment will be based on rhythm, formation, expression, costumes, make-up, sets and overall effect.

      11. Marking will be strictly based on the quality of dance; extra efforts to enhance visual appeal through set design will not be considered for marking.
